This is an older 4-bedroom house just off the beach near Palmilla, and the new young owners wanted a comfortable vacation environment, Mexican in feel.
The house had not much character, and needed updating in the kitchens and baths and backyard, as well as furnishings.

I remodelled the kitchen, changing the tile to granite and adding upper cabinets and soffit, lighting, fan, stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms all had exterior enclosed walled garden areas, which only served to darken the baths, and we removed them to add light and space to the pool area, and other exterior spaces. The master bathroom we extended by taking out the enclosed garden area and converting it to the shower, thus gaining a double sink area and much light. We used glass block in all bathrooms to separate the shower area, and used marble counter tops and new ceramic tile. We redesigned the pool area, adding a jacuzzi elevated level, and took out the existing stairs to the upper bedroom level, adding a side stair, which gave us room for chaise lounges at that side. We created garden areas for palms and other greenery, which was sadly lacking. New tile was layed in the covered patio area, and flagstone for the pool and jacuzzi patios. We also added a bamboo shade with Mexican tropical wood columns, for filtering the drastic sun in Los Cabos, creating a delightful and comfortable environment for all times of day.
The furnishings are a combination of Mexican and Indian and Indonesian as well as American pieces. The living room sofas, accent chair and throw pillows are Kravet fabrics, wool Tibetan style rug from India , and accents pieces are Mexican. In the bedrooms, we used mostly Mexican pieces, custom bedcovers and curtains, mattresses by Diamond. Patio furniture from Telescope Casual.
